The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has been named a 2019 Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation awarded the Minneapolis Fed a perfect score of 100 on the Corporate Equality Index, which is “is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.”
“This distinction serves as a benchmark to our employees and potential applicants that we take LGBTQ equality seriously and meet a very high bar with our score of 100,” said Scott Thomas-Forss, vice president of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Group. “We encourage employees to bring their true and authentic selves to work each and every day.”
The Minneapolis Fed joins more than 560 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year. The 2019 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. The Bank’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
